The focus on the emotional and experiential aspects of worship, rather than the depth of the content - this is what I call Spiritual Sensationalism and it outranks spiritual maturity.

In light of our passage in 2 Corinthians 11:12–21, and its specific demonstration that false teachers find their source in Satan, meditate on this rendering of Genesis 3 (and other verses) as applied to our present-day church. Repent where repentance needs to occur, and take up hope where despair sets in. The church belongs to Christ. He will build it.

Though the false witness of the court led Jesus to the condemnation of the cross, it was ultimately our false witness that led Him to Calvary’s hill. He died and bled for every believer’s lie; the white lies, the black lies, the small lies, the large lies all were paid for by Christ.

We aren’t given the Spirit to run from the strongholds but to confront them with truth and destroy them. Whether it’s our sin, dealing with conflict, or opportunities for evangelism, the Gospel is the power of God to transform lives.

The true Christian Gospel reflects a benevolent God but cannot be manipulated.

Paul called for giving to help in a disastrous situation, not for a welfare program. We don’t seek to create a system of constant dependency. One might ask, why not?

Many Christians fall into the trap of being functionally atheistic in their lives. When it comes to applying these truths, our lives look like atheists. Our Christianity is theoretical and not practical.

The government acts not on Christian principles but on Marxist principles that may sound good, loving, and kind but, in the end, contain a poison that destroys the dignity of humanity.

As America grew and became more populated, the church's influence waned, and the power of the government grew. What we have today is an out-of-control, wealth-consuming, regulation-oriented monster.

They’ve claimed that the church must unite and not be fractured through these issues. However, their definition of unity involves every church member under their care agreeing with them and following them blindly into the fray.

If we sin, we may be upset about it, but do we run back to that sin? Do we plan and premediate our sin? Do we make peace with it and hold on to it?

Do you struggle to find comfort among God’s people? The problem may not be others; the problem might be you. If you feel disconnected or unplugged, do you expect others to come seek after you, or do you put forth an effort to connect?

The Corinthians cost Paul hardship, a ministry opportunity, and sleepless nights. He was in conflict and turmoil over their sins and situation. Where is the joy in all of this?

We find ourselves asking, “How can the finite comprehend the infinite?” This idea emerged from a desire to make our doctrines more acceptable to culture, a decision that effectively handed over the reins of our beliefs.

Through whatever circumstance he encounters, his life reflects the grace of God through the Spirit’s work. The grace of God overflowed with fruitfulness in Paul’s life.
