The Great Paradox
Enjoy this Christmas poem by Pastor Chris Hendrix
The dark night glistened with vast mystery
When the angels gave a bright symphony
The Shepherds had witnessed great history
As they looked upon the infinity
There in the meek manger swaddled tightly
Laid a boy who appeared ordinary
But to the keen person who thought rightly
This baby was extraordinary
The unlikely became reality
As God in flesh dwelt with humanity
Who never dies clothed with mortality
To originate Christianity
He grew from a baby boy to a man
No less divine but increased in knowledge
That’s when his ministry truly began
Earning from the Father future homage.
He preached in power with lips of thunder
And loved in mercy with hands of service
He had torn his enemies asunder
While bringing peace to those who were nervous
In the end he faced the crucifixion
The wrath of God appeased by the spilt blood
To buy for his people their redemption
So that they will survive the fire’s flood
So this Christmas bask in His glories seen
As you open the gifted special box
And when you do everything in between
Celebrate the story of the great paradox
